Dr. Doug Martin photo

Doug Martin, D.O.:
Received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin. He completed his medical training at the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Mo., and his family medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences. Dr. Martin previously served as a physician in the United States Air Force. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, and is a board-certified family physician.


Dr. Keri Merschman

Keri Merschman, M.D.:
Graduated summa cum laude from Judson College in Marion with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She completed the University of Alabama School of Medicine Rural Medicine Program, and received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. She completed her family medicine residency at the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa.

Cesar Romero, M.D.:
Completed his medical studies at the University of the Philippines and his internal medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Mary Rose Santiago photo

Mary Rose Santiago, M.D
.: A board-certified pediatrician, is a graduate of the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, Ill., and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio.


Dr. Leslie Smothers


Leslie Smothers, D.O.: Received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and finished her medical training at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg. She completed her family medicine residency at the North Mississippi Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Center.


Lisa Wanner


Lisa Wanner, FNP-C: Began her career in nursing in 1989 as an LPN, and received her registered nursing license in 1996. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Alabama in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She received her master's degree in nursing in 2017 from Troy University.

Ashton Wilbanks, FNP-BC:
Is a graduate of Hamilton High School and received her associate’s degree in nursing from Bevill State Community College in Hamilton. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of North Alabama in Florence. She completed her master’s degree and family nurse practitioner training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.



Appointments may be made by calling (205) 921-6496 during office hours. Appointments may be requested with the health care provider of your choice. Every effort will be made to provide the earliest possible appointment for the convenience of the patient. Due to the unscheduled nature of emergencies, occasional delays do occur. We hope you will understand these delays are unavoidable.

We accept walk-in patients. However, walk-in patients will be worked into the schedule as time permits.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please cancel as far in advance as possible. Another patient who can be booked into the open time will be grateful for your thoughtfulness.

After Hours Care

If you have health care questions after hours, please call Nurse Link® at (662) 377-3007 or 1-800-882-6274. If you have a health care emergency, please call 9-1-1 or visit the nearest Emergency Department.

Scope of Services
Hamilton Primary Care Center offers the following services:

  • Adult acute and chronic care
  • Well child/sick child care
  • Wellness exams
  • Preoperative evaluation of patients
  • EKG
  • Lab
  • Minor procedures
  • Pap smears
  • Drug testing
  • Minor procedures


In the event that a patient needs a service or medical care that isn’t provided by Hamilton Primary Care Center, the health care provider on duty will provide a referral to that service and/or medical specialty during regular business hours.


Hamilton Primary Care Center Hours:

8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday


If a patient needs access to care when the clinic is closed, those patients may opt to receive care from North Mississippi Medical Center-Hamilton’s Emergency Department.
