About Dr. Edward Hill

Dr. Edward Hill, House Call

Dr. Edward Hill, a board-certified family physician whose medical practice spans more than 45 years, is the third person to host 60 Second Housecall since 1992. He hosted the segments from 2008-2017. Ken Davis, M.D., who served as chief medical officer for North Mississippi Health Services before his departure in April 2008, hosted the segment for six years. Dr. Davis took over hosting duties from "Dr. Bob" Lanier, who retired from the program in 2002 after more than 10 years as host.

Dr. Hill earned his medical degree at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and is the first Mississippian to serve on the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Association. Having served as president of the American Medical Association from 2005 to 2006, his experience in health related activities ranges from the shaping of health policies at state and federal levels to more than 40 years of experience as a board-certified family physician in rural Mississippi. He previously served as chairman of the board for the World Medical Association.

In addition to his duties with the AMA and WMA, Dr. Hill has served in a variety of leadership positions in other medical organizations, including chairman of the board of trustees and president of the Mississippi State Medical Association, president of the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians and president of the Southern Medical Association. Dr. Hill serves on the faculty of North Mississippi Medical Center’s Family Medicine Residency Center and maintains an active practice.
